I'm not generally into Japanese stuff, but there is just something about the backside of these S14 240SX's that makes me incredibly happy. I want one badly. I couldn't find any pictures of a stock one, so this is the cleanest one I was able to find. If I had one I would lower it a bit, and get the later "kouki" front, although neither the zenki or kouki make me as happy as the backside of this car. It just looks... fast and imported. I didn't know that these were actually sold in america, I thought they were illegally imported for some reason.

I'm pretty sure it's the SR20 motor(maybe even turbo). So, power ability is not a concern. However, they rust like a british car and finding an unmolested one is pretty much impossible. At least they're cheap.

I thought the SR20 was for Japan only?

Did they make a factory blower motor? Then I'm even more sold.

That's true, it uses the KA24 (is this the one perpetually mocked as a truck engine?). Still, engine swaps...

The s14 came with the ka24 in the US, but there are a butt ton of sr20s floating around, because racecar, and because you can import a motor without many issues.
This one was probably Sr20 swapped, because they all are. That being said I prefer the ka24 for modding. Better balanced, can hold a lil boost from the factory, easier finger parts, and the rockers won't float (I've seen one go to 10.5k rpm)
You can rebuild and forge a ka, sc it to over 15-20 lbs with the right pulley, and have over 400 hps for less than 5k if you know a guy.

The best part about that rear end is you can take the slightly less awesome USDM lights and trunk and bolt the JDM parts right in place. Nissan was nice enough to make all the mounting points the same for all the variations.

Don't quote me, but I believe they used the SR20 in the Sentra. Not turbo'd, but it is the SR20.

If you look closely, there's differences in the tail as well... slightly. If you fancy the s15 front make it a 14.5. Engine wise, the KA24 comes in all US S-Series so if you plan on swapping for a JDM conversion, swap it with the Infinity G20 for the SR20 also for their stock turbo (or not).

G20's were NA, and that was a FWD variant of the sr20, so no go.

Still an epic motor. I had one from a Sentra SE-R that I was going to swap into my 200SX. Even the NA USDM motor can hold 400whp.

Oh man. Didn't the USDM Sentra have no EGR? Might be wrong though.

I don't remember but I think the B13 did not but the B14 did. I could be wrong though...

I, uh...
...erm...
...to each their own. Personally, I find the entire Nissan lineup in the S14, R33 generation to be a misstep that they recovered from in the S15, R34 generation. I really can't stand em.
But that's just me. I've actually shown that I have terrible taste, so there's that.

I think the R34 skyline is the most beautiful car Nissan has made up until this point. We can't get that here in the US though :(
